Sprint Tests

10 Metre Standing Sprint

This test is relevant for all positions in soccer and reflects the acceleration component of sprinting. Better acceleration means you are more likely to get the first touch on the ball. Sprint results can be improved by practising sprinting up hill or up stairs.

20 Metre Standing Sprint

This test reflects combines both "acceleration" and  "top-end speed" components of sprinting over a distance which is highly relevant to football.

10 Metre Flying Sprint

This test reflects the "top-end speed" component of sprinting without the acceleration. The runner starts 10 metres back, and the timer only starts after the first 10 Metres.
